Data mussel

Data MusselData Mussel is composed of two completely the same oblong shells, tightly connect with elastic ring, length 6 to 8 centimeters, within them there is soft tissue. Shell has the shape of a fan, the outside is black and bluish, the inside pale pearly.

Scallops

scallopsScallops has the shape of a fan, with two different shells. One is curved, shaped, while the other is flat, and both have been extended to the point where the lock is. The shells are furrowed with 14-16 radial ribs, however, no matter what the outer edge is not straight, shell is closed remarkably, the shells overlap perfectly, since the teeth with both shells matched the hundredth of a millimeter. On the inside of the shell is covered with a mantle on which the outer edge of a multitude of tiny senses - and tentacles of the eye, a kind of eye-shaped dark spots.

Oyster

OysterOysters body is located within two asymmetric shells. Left concave shell serves to accept to the surface, while right straight is connected with strong muscle. It is elongated and heart-shaped, jagged edges, and the shell color varies from rock to whitish gray. Grow up to 13 centimeters in length.

Calico clam

calico clamCalico clam is usually light brown to yellowish color, one of the most widespread small shells in the Adriatic, spawn in late spring and summer, lay eggs, and should not be hunted under 2.5 cm in length.

Mussels

musselsMussels is roan-brown to reddish-ill fine ribs on the side. It grows to a maximum of 10 centimeters and 6 decagrams, and the average length of about 6 cm and 2 decagrams. It lives attached to hard surfaces, but there is, and the sand-gravel bottom where there are stones. Usually located at a depth of 2 to 10 meters.
Often lives in colonies. It belongs to the widespread Adriatic shells. It has white, rutted and symmetrical shells. Shaped like a primitive boat and thus it draws its name.

Brbavica

brbavicaBrbavica are greyish or yellowish and are furrowed large number of ribs that probably serve to shell easily dug in the sand. Ribs on the shells also protect against predators such as snails and wolf. The shell is divided into two symmetrical parts, round in shape, slightly thickened at one end where the shells are connected.

Lakirka

lakirkaShell is basically a light burgundy with dark rounded grooves. It spawns in spring and summer. The meat is very good taste. Mostly prepared as any other edible shellfish. Catch up throughout the year, more in warm month whenever the water is low. Most often we find at a depth of 1-10 meters and is spread across the Adriatic to a depth of 60 meters. We find it on the basis of two holes in the sand, it feeds on plankton.
